Where are they now?

Luke was born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate. He has had 5 surgeries total so far, and now is doing amazing and is thriving even in this time of his life! I am amazed at how far he has come. What the surgeons do for our babies is truly a miracle. I was told that he would need extensive speech therapy, and countless other problems by the time he reaches kindergarten. Luke will be starting Kindergarten in the fall and speaks better than most children in his class who are not cleft effected with no speech therapy at all, passing all speech evaluations with flying colors. He has so many friends, is smart, funny, loves fishing, baseball, and the outdoors. Luke is such a bright light in the lives of everyone he meets! I know that we are not out of the woods yet but the support of the Mia Moo Foundation is invaluable to our lives. The amount of love, education, financial support and truly being like a family praying for us during the good and bad times of this journey is life changing for us. I know as Luke grows they will help him make it through as well. Knowing you are not alone no matter what we face in this life makes such a difference and that's what the family of Mia Moo gives to us, a community. Luke still has challenges to face, but we are enjoying this time of growth, development, and no surgeries with our happy boy! Thank you Mia Moo for EVERYTHING! ~ Wayne and Anna Rachal
