WHERE ARE THEY NOW........

Maddelin was born in 2010 with a unilateral cleft lip and palate. She had many challenges at first especially with keeping her weight where it should be. As Maddelin continued to get older, it was evident that God gifted her with an amazing amount of courage, strength, and empathy. Maddelin has always had a heart for others, and it has been so good for her to connect and meet children who have walked the same path as she has. This year, I have watched Maddelin become more confident in herself and her appearance. We teach our children to look at what is on the inside, because that is what matters; however, for her, it was more of a challenge. Although people didn't say she looked different, she felt different. I am so thankful that with her last surgery in the summer of 2019, she was able to face herself and realize that she is a beautiful daughter of God. I pray daily that her differences and the path that she is walking will lead others to know Jesus as their Savior. Her story is just that, it's hers. None of our cleft children face the same hardships, but for Maddelin, it has been nice for her to see that she is not alone. Mia Moo allowed her to see that there are kids like her, and that together, they can face all the hardships and trials this world throws their way.

"We will always be thankful for the generosity of the Mia Moo Foundation. We know that we are creating a lifelong friendship with many families because of Mia Moo and for that we will forever be grateful." Maddelin's mom
