December Reflection

Hey Y'all! It's Mia! Merry Christmas! This month I spent most of it at home from college! I had the best time watching movies, getting ice-cream, and having late night talks with my family! After the stress of finals it was just what I needed! We had our annual Christmas dinner with my whole family and it was filled with so much fun and chaos! I am so excited to see what 2023 brings and I am also glad to bring y'all with me into it! I love you all!

MEET JULIA - DECEMBER RECIPIENT!

Julia was 2 ½ years old when she joined our family. She had 2 surgeries in China and then once home she's had 12 more surgeries and procedures. She's been through a lot but is such a trooper and even when recovering, she's sweet as ever. Julia loves creating things from Legos and loves any cardboard box she can get a hold of so she can make into a house, car, spaceship. She's a thinker and curious beyond belief and can ask some really deep questions. She loves Jesus, her dad and mom, 4 siblings and her dog. ~ Julia's Mom

NATHAN - DECEMBER RECIPIENT!

Nathan was born on February 24^th, 2015, with a bilateral cleft lip and palate. During his first 2 years, he had to undergo three surgeries which involved two lip surgeries and partial palate surgery. Despite the challenges he has faced, this has not stopped him from becoming such a smart, positive, and inspiring young individual. Nathan is a sweet, funny, and lovable boy that will just brighten your day with his smile. He loves to play soccer and hopes to become a famous professional soccer player and explorer when he grows up. His cleft journey has just started and more to come, but we know that greatness awaits him. ~ Nathan's Mom

WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
Caleb is an energetic & enthusiastic 8 year old who loves sports(any and all sports), being outside, and playing with his friends. The start of 2022 was a tough one as he had 3 bone graft surgeries within 4 months. Each surgery required a 6-week recovery period where he was on strict dietary and activity restrictions, which was tough for our active boy. But he made it through and was fully recovered just in time for his first Mia Moo FunDay.
We are overwhelmed by the support the Mia Moo Fund has been to our family. Not only did the financial assistance help us during a time when the medical bills were pouring in, but the encouragement we received from other families at the Mia Moo FunDay was invaluable. Having the chance to spend the day with other families who have walked through similar struggles was just what we needed after a tough year. We are so thankful for this organization! ~ Caleb's Mom
